Underglazes are refractory ceramic pigments, suspended in a liquid medium that can withstand the high temperatures of a kiln firing. Underglaze painting is a great way to add color, patterns, and design to the surface of your work. It is applied to greenware or bisque surface, then covered with clear glaze before the glost firing.
